The Demoiselle And The Flying Tank
I was thrilled to find this gorgeous male banded demoiselle flitting amongst the grass seedheads in our field this morning. I've never seen one here before. These insects favour slow moving watercourses with muddy beds and plentiful vegetation. There's a little stream that runs south of our property so maybe they're starting to colonise it. I loved it that it was still in the same area when Ollie dog and I went for a walk after lunch.
Interesting to see the Apache helicopter with its Longbow Fire Control Radar bulb. I'm surprised by how skinny these aircraft are. (Got me listening to The Shadows.)
