Weeding Needed

Onions growing quite well but some have tried to flower; took the buds off but I don't know if that will stop them getting the thick necks.
The featured weed is marestail, a horrible thing that will grow from the smallest bit of plant left in the ground after clearing. As the roots go down to almost Australia you can not fail to miss some bits. I have some weed killer that claims to be able sort it and it seems to work but the stuff keeps coming up somewhere else. A long job to clear it totally, not helped by it coming in from next door. This plant is seeking asylum in the onions but I will still get him.
One thing achieved today, the fence I started painting last September time has now been finished. Bit of a fight with the rose bushes, that I won, and another with the ivy, that I lost. The beautiful white roses with mid cedar brown spots could be unique
