Today's the day ……………………….. to cut the grass

This is what our lawn looks like at the moment.

Well, to be fair, it's more a meadow than a lawn - but we do usually cut some of it in the normal way with a lawnmower.  The problem is that the lawnmower is not working just now.  It's one of those where you charge up a battery - and then you don't need any electric cable when you're mowing.  But the battery won't charge, even when you plug it in for hours.

So Will went to see a Lawnmower man in Dumfries - who knew right away what the problem was.  Apparently, this make of battery sometimes 'goes to sleep'  and needs to be woken up.  He could do it easily but the manufacturers won't allow him to have the bit of kit that is required.  So the battery has to be sent back to the factory - presumably for a bit of R & R.  Have you ever heard anything so ridiculous?!

So - until we get our battery back - we'll just have to put up with the clover/buttercup meadow ………………..
