First socially distanced visitor!
A sunny day, but with a chilly breeze if you were in the wrong place. But always walking on the sunny side of the street was OK. Not having had a Prêt coffee for a couple of days, I was enthused enough to walk down to the nearest one. We’ve discovered a sunny seat nearby, so we can enjoy the coffee and croissant while car spotting.
We walked round by the canal, and lo! the wee barge cafe was open. So, although we’d just had a coffee, we had to have another one, which was not quite the caffeine hit of the first one, but probably better surroundings.
We came home through the Links, which were really busy with picnickers and random groups, despite the chilly breeze, which they didn’t seem to notice. Maybe it’s just me...
It was sunny in our back garden, and warm because it’s sheltered. We texted Hazel, our neighbour, to come and join us. I think, technically, it’s not till Monday that another person can join us, but too bad. She walked through the house without touching a thing. A chilled glass (or two) of rose was had. The wee girls from upstairs came out to play with Archie, and Hazel was impressed at how well Archie got on with them, doing all his tricks endlessly.
The sun disappeared as soon as Hazel arrived, so it wasn’t exactly the balmy first socially-distanced-visitor visit we have been anticipating for three months, but we persisted. A second bottle of wine helped. Almost felt back to normal.
