Experimenting with acrylics

Another day when the time slipped past all too quickly. Having felt tired yesterday I allowed myself to have a lazy morning which meant a late start to the first task – duolingo, followed by a rare day time viewing (I generally don’t watch anything until the evening) of The Night Manager. I had forgotten how good it was.

After lunch (an indulgent cheese sandwich with half a small packet of cheese and onion crisps, and cherries) I determined to get my art stuff and this blip is the result of my experimentation with acrylics. They look much better in the photograph which is just fine. The water in the seascape looks particularly impressive with those white flecks which in reality are a trick of the light. I took the photo in front of the window with what was left of the sun shining directly onto the screen.

After all this indulgence my conscience got the better of me and in the early evening I went for a short jog – just a 2 miler, 0.4 jog 0.1 walk x 4. Better than not doing anything at all. I had hoped it might rain – severe thunderstorms had been forecast but unhappily it remained resolutely dry. I so love running in the rain when it is otherwise warm and there is an absence of wind which were the conditions today.

Rather nice supper – salmon with parsley butter, followed by (because it was Friday) ice cream, that delicious white chocolate variety form Waitrose. I think I may need to restock.
