Other folks work

There are so many benefits to where we live, including the delight of looking down from our first floor balcony to the garden of our neighbours on the ground floor. There is always something new to see, it is almost a miracle that the squirrels have not totally disrupted their well thought through and executed garden plans. I noticed these lilies today, a vibrant fiery red and I think also some more subtle yellow ones that you can just see. Meanwhile my flowers on our balcony are yet to arrive, there is a solitary pink cornflower and the fuchsia has several buds and three open ones. Perhaps I have overdone the feeding which has certainty produced huge swathes of healthy foliage but that seems to be all.
The longest day of the year today, it didn't of course feel like that. It never does these days, and the nature of time is elusive, but not the fear of time, that is all too real, these days.
