The green-eyed monster

Today is the Great Yorkshire Creature Count.  I counted quite a few. I don't yet know what this fella is - fly, hoverfly? 

Currently, the green-eyed monster.

UPDATE:  looking at my butt shot, I think it's a semaphore fly.
