Something unsavoury?

That was my worry so I asked for an ID on ispotnature and it seems I didn't have to worry.  Yes, to you it might still be something unsavoury but to me, it's a magnificent slime mould!  Very possibly wolf's milk slime but it's too hard to ID with one photo, apparently. 

Poking it was as revoltingly fun as looking at it :D
