Bempton Cliffs
We visited Bempton Cliffs today , as a treat for father's day ( it was a treat for all of us , really)
Just over a two hour drive but well worth it. I am in absolute love with Puffins or otherwise known as ' The Sea Clown'. What delightful, beautiful, unique creatures, they are. We were all in awe of them and thrilled beyond belief, that we got to see four separate ones.
Thank heavens I bought new binoculars, without them we would never have spotted them, they blend in so well .
The Gannets were stunningly beautiful and bold. The children named one ' King' as he had the best spot. We saw Kittiwakes and chicks, Gull eggs, Gannet babies. Fabulous day and will definitely go again.
Afterwards we drove a further ten miles into Scarborough, the children rollicked in the sea and we all had a go at ' Crabbing' both children caught one each and we gently released them.
We had fish and chips for tea and got home at nine thirty.
