Diary of an Edinburgher

Naughty boy

Rain all day was forecast, but thankfully that didn’t eventuate. It was a sunny morning, so Becky and Daniel took Archie out for a walk. JR went for a run/walk. I got the clippers out and snipped at a few wee stray bits of hedge, just to keep it in check. Our carpenter popped round to fix a wayward cupboard door.

In the afternoon we had planned to meet up with Annemique (Archie’s erstwhile walker) and her new puppy. We haven’t met her yet. But the weather turned showery, and so we postponed the doggy date.

The sun kept appearing and disappearing during the afternoon, and so in a sunny spell, I took Archie round the block. Though he was a naughty boy and disappeared into a big bush on the Links and emerged with a big chunk of bread, which he gobbled up. Of course, he runs off if I try to get near to take it off him.

One of the small joys of lockdown is only getting round to having a shower in the late afternoon, and getting straight into one’s jimjams and dressing gown, knowing there will be no visitors.
