After the rain
It rained all night and it was still raining this morning and into the afternoon. And this was real continuous downpour rain. So we stayed in, as I suspect most of the inhabitants of Wanaka did. Wanaka needed the rain; I'm not sure we did.
Around 2.30 the rain stopped. Then there was a gradual emergence onto the lakeside, as visitors ventured out from their shelters. There were a lot of cameras in evidence, as the mountains emerging from the clouds made a beautiful scene.
I don't think I will be the only one blipping this today, but it really is the only thing possible. Here we are looking across Lake Wanaka to the mountains, as the clouds were lifting and there was a tiny bit of light appearing and reflecting in the water.
Some of you may have been surprised to get comments in your journals from me today, when I have said that it is difficult to find the time and the internet access whilst here. I am keeping up with reading comments and journals, but I do not always manage to reply or comment myself. Now you know why it happened today! Enforced indoor activity has its compensations!
Hope Blipbear didn't get too wet - wherever he got to!
