Spot the Ladybird!
Actually there were lots but only this one managed to get into one on my shots of this Small Tortoiseshell.
Haven’t managed a butterfly capture for a while and this one was at the start of our morning walk along the top of Goit Stock woods. It does go to show that they really do like nettles!
We were later than I’d hoped setting off for Goit Stock for the first time for well over a month, but Chris, having got up earlier than me, had put a loaf on and we had to wait for it to finish baking.
It was very quiet on the path to Hallas Bridge and then we met one ot two people at the top end of the woods above the waterfall, one of whom we knew. Just one family at the waterfall and surprisingly a Community Constable. He asked us where people might park and how he would get there. We suggested Hallas Lane and Bents Lane. We explained his options when he reached Hallas Bridge, he was following Google maps.
Don’t know if there had been a complaint or not but he was very polite and pleasant to us and the family playing on the edge of the water.
I have to say there was absolutely no rubbish and the cool tranquility of the valley was delightful on such a hot day.
There were more people coming as we left the valley but not too many parked cars, in fact some were leaving. If the place is used with respect then that’s fine.
Very hot as I sit in the shade in the garden writing my blip. More to come until we get the inevitable thunder at the end of the week I believe. Enjoy it U.K. blippers and stay safe.
