More poppies

I last went to see the poppies at West Pentire on June 9th - there was no sun and I wanted to see turquoise sea in the background.  (here)  I went yesterday evening as I had been told it was impossibly crowded in the daytime.  The poppies with the best sea view were facing the sun so the sea in fact looked silvery grey!  I found a field where, on June 9th, there were no poppies at all!  So there's a bit of faded evening sea!  I can't believe these poppies appeared in just 14 days.  In the whole area the poppies this year are thinner and less dramatic.  But every year is different and they will be different again next year.
