Ugly duckling

One of the cygnets on Blackford Pond. Aren't they getting big? Here they are five weeks ago, soon after they had hatched. Hasn't that beak grown - and that neck? They have definitely entered the ugly duckling phase and I love them just as much as when they were sweet balls of down. It was the cygnets who decided it was time to finish being fed by humans and they formed their own flotilla and went back to the island, leaving their parents munching muesli.

Otherwise there were four moorhens being quarrelsome although I wasn't sure why they were all together when there was the whole pond to spread out over. Maybe they just like quarreling.
