Wicken Fen
Another scorcher of a day. We headed to Wicken Fen, the National Trust's first ever nature reserve location between Cambridge and Ely. It was another location Annie's late night National Trust ticket booking got us access too. We originally planned to walk with Annie's step mum but she quite wisely decided that due to the heat, today was better spent at home.
Annie and I did a three mile loop and that was enough for us in the baking early afternoon sunshine. It's a lovely location, so quiet and calm and we will certainly visit again. There was plenty of insect life to enjoy although none of it was staying very still, I think early morning would be the time for that! A few more photos here.
