Still lovely

So today was a bit like the game of two halves - the first part was bad, really bad and the rest of it much better.

Woke around 9.45 after being restless for much of the night and finally resorting to ear plugs around 6am. Didn’t feel very rested but thought I’d better get up and on with the day.

Miss PHL had been up early to use the elliptical machine in the gym (aka the garage) so as I passed her room on my way downstairs I stopped for a chat. i mentioned that her old flatmate seemed to be active on LinkedIn and before I knew it there were full on tears. Turns out she has been putting pressure on herself to get sorted out with a job, new flat and everything (even though neither is easy to come by at the moment) and she felt like she was letting everyone down. Cue one very upset mother for setting her off. Lots of talking later and we were both much happier and have a plan to help her move forward.

Spent a few hours helping with a job application before sitting down to dinner together. She and her father then measured up everything in her room and created a plan to see how it could be rearranged post the planned redecoration (which will at least help in the short term) - going to be tricky to achieve the look she wants in the space she has but never say never.

I had what has become the usual Friday night chat with the girls and realised too late that I had no blip
