Lavender garden at Ham House
Visited Ham House and was saddened to see that most of the gardens have not been tended as the gardeners were furloughed until recently and none of the many volunteers have been there working. My last visit was on 3 March when the crocuses were a spectacular display. ( see blip of 3 March) a very different sight today....see extra. However the lavender garden which was only planted about two years ago looked lovely. Two gardeners were hard at work on the vegetable garden but less planted there than usual.
- lots of rain overnight and wet this morning so no cycle ride
- grandchildren came over and revisited some toys they have not played with since before lockdown
- delivered a Chinese gooseberry plant to a friend and went into her garden for the first time in months
