mr and mrs p
tonight was my first real farewell, as mrs p leaves for the uk on wednesday. sad times.
mr and mrs p: an amazing couple who have been an inspiration to me and many others as we've passed through their guesthouse and their lives.
mr p is probably one of the wisest people i know and many times has given me good, Godly advice. i remember on more than one occasion, sitting around the dinner table listening to his amazing stories of being a missionary dentist in zambia and just being completely inspired. such an amazing, wise and humble man.
and mrs p, well, where do i start?! i have had a few slaps and tellings off from mrs p. in fact anyone who knows mrs p has probably had a few slaps and tellings off! but we all still love her because she is utterly hilarious and completely wonderful. for the year and a half that i lived in their guesthouse, mrs p was like a mother to kristi and i....bringing fresh warm brownies just at the right time, inviting us over to watch 'come dine with me' and sticking our picture on her fridge so she can pray for us.
i got a little bit choked up saying goodbye tonight. so, mr and mrs p, if you are reading this: thank you so much for the way you welcomed me into your home. thank you for the wonderful food you shared and the constant encouragement you gave. when i buy my first house, i will make sure your picture is on my fridge.
and mrs p, thanks for teaching me how to chop onions. i can't fail to find a husband now.
(i'm taking a break from my normal blipping routine and from now until i leave i will be posting portraits of the people that i love here in zambia. i might put them all together at the end to make a mammoth picture to hang on my wall, but mostly they will stay here on blip so i can remember these lovely people.)
