Life in a Northern Town

Day 97 - out of the dark ages

We were sorting out some stuff today and came across this card I made for John's 50th. His phone was a joke then, and five years later he still steadfastly refuses to switch from his trusty 6310i to a Smartphone.

No emails, no camera, no Apps, no Track and Tracing for him. Texting is a painfully protracted experience, especially as the buttons don't work properly. When he first got it I used the composer function  - remember that? - to write Sweet Child O' Mine as his ringtone  - still going strong nearly 20 years later.

A few years ago we had to all put our phones in a basket to go through security at the new World Trade Centre building  - the security guard called all his colleagues across to see John's phone and told David he really needed to sort his dad out with some new tech.

He keeps threatening to tally up how much I have spent on phones in the same period.......
