Stormy Monday.....

How strange! My first thoughts at the start of a new week a year ago would have been 'Sh*t! It's Monday again!' My first thoughts today when I woke to the roar of the sea and the wind howling around the house were 'Oh great! It should be an easy blip today!'

Over the top of my laptop screen from the living room window, I could see the storm raging outside. After I'd logged off, I was full of good intentions and went downstairs to get my coat. I was well wrapped up with boots and hat on and my camera round my neck, fearless and adventurous, ready to take marvellous shots of crashing waves on the rocks.

No chance! I got as far as the gatepost, about ten paces from the front door, felt like I'd had a bucket of water thrown at me and slapped in the face by the wind and rain and I turned around and went back inside! How pathetic! It had taken me ten minutes to get ready to go out (dressing up like Scott of the Antarctic) and it had taken me ten seconds to turn round and get back inside!

Useless!

After I'd had dinner, I bravely opened the top window with mom standing by in case I was sucked out by the blast. I might have been tossed about on the breeze like a rag doll and then got stuck on someone's satellite dish ruining Coronation Street for them, or even worse, blown all the way back to Birmingham! Horror of horrors!

Anyway, this is it for today. I have survived...
