Shearer under instruction....

A p...ing wet morning earlier on.
The shearers here to make a start at 7.30 am. A different shearing trailer today though- a 2 stand set up on the back of an ex Ayrshire Council twin cab transit. They had everything finished by lunch time as it was too wet to get any more ewes in.
This gave them time for a bit of fine tuning. The lassie said she only started shearing last year so was happy to get some tips from the more experienced shearer. He even took time to give our student worker, Ross, a go at two or three.
Mrs F took the terrier for his 6 month hair plucking. When I came in tonight he was half the size he was this morning ( still fat as a whale though) and seriously in the huff !
And it’s still raining tonight! To think in May we were crying out for rain . Be careful what you wish for !
