The rain stopped this afternoon after 60 hours of unceasing downpour.  I hate being stuck indoors but also hate walking in the rain.

Chéri Samba, born in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1956, learned his artistic skills from an early age, inspired by comics, films and advertising. He was a pioneer of the Congolese School of Popular Painting, which has roots in African traditions of storytelling, masquerade and art as a means of social engagement, aiming to reach a large audience, stimulating debate and educating through entertainment.

Après 11 Sept 2001 (2002) shows an unheroic protagonist, full of aggression and beset by warplanes, crossing a battlefield strewn with casualties. The detail of the head of the character highlights the essence of the post-9/11 problem - the mental state of the superpower psyche.
