Brave steps
Morning run was thankfully drier. I am slowly trying to learn the difference between just being out of breath because I have worked my body hard when I'm a bit unfit and asthma shortness of breath.
Today I offered to cycle to Leith to collect a cheque that needed delivered to our office in Morningside. I had on my to do list to visit the office some time this week and today was set to be drier. The roads were terrifying. They've closed most of Leith Walk do tram works but I was unaware before it was too late. Ended up being one of those people I hate and cycled on the (very wide) pavements. Going back up towards the bridges was no better, one lane of traffic with no space for vehicles to pass, and it's uphill!
I went in to a building that isn't my own home for the first time in nearly 4 months. Only interacted with the person who unlocked the door and was pleased to see the hand sanitising station. Didn't stay long though.
As I was on a roll I decided to collect my books from the local bookshop. It was very well laid out, dots where to stand a separate desk for collections/ordering and paying. My chest was already bad from fumes and people tarring the road so I was seriously struggling with my face covered too but in the interests of those around me I kept it on and just got out as quick as I could.
I had planned on being brave and going in to the hospital to drop the cheque off but by that point with everything else, I couldn't be bothered with the faff of locking the bike, unclipping paniers etc so called to be met outside.
Rewarded myself and my bravery with a wander round to K's to swap plants and collect a book.
