Hindringham Hall
B and I spent a delightful morning visiting the gardens of the moated Hindringham Hall. It was built around 1538 by a courtier who had got rich in the service of Henry VIII’s illegitimate son Henry Fitzroy. The gardens are open two days a week and they are beautiful, very natural planting and a haven for butterflies and dragonflies.
I was rather spoilt for choice as to what to blip, so I've added a couple of extras, some sleepy cygnets and a view of the house itself across the moat (although rather abundant in algae at the moment).
The tearoom was closed of course, but we took chairs, a flask of coffee and a snack which was most refreshing.
