Sláinte!

Lunch? Sure thing, but where? Carl was going to be in town anyway, so we agreed that I should meet him. It was his idea to go to Matt The Thresher on Pembroke Street. We booked our spot last night for 2:30 today. Talk about making the right choice! It's a place we've always liked, and it came up trumps today, abiding by all the re-opening rules, making it clear on their web site how they are doing that, and even welcoming walk-ins according to their board outside.

Nice food, lovely place, great staff (all wearing face shields), hand sanitising, one-way system in operation, screens between tables where necessary, tables beside the bar rather than stools, tables wiped down immediately they became free, distancing in place in the loo … we couldn't have chosen a better place for a sampling of the new normal after all this time.

Well done M-the-T's. Well done. We'll be back. With reinforcements.
