WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

Granddad Hugs!

The girls couldn't leave Granddad alone when we arrived yesterday. They just adore him.
Frank is not their 'blood' granddad but he held them as newborns, fed them their bottles and changed nappies when we babysat, threw them about and taught them songs and jokes as they got older.

These two are a very huggy and noisy pair, they have such loud voices, laughter and squabbles and talk a lot while they are playing together - mainly with their dolls and mermaids and any figures they can use for role play. It's entertaining listening to them.

We were able to sit out in the garden for a while and we also went in the hot tub they had installed at the start of lockdown.
I never really fancied going in one before - however sitting in hot water outdoors surrounded by flowers was actually very nice. Even Frank came in! It reminded us of the hot springs we visited in various parts of British Columbia in Canada.

We had an Indian takeaway tonight as Frank wanted to buy a meal before he leaves tomorrow night. It was delicious.

Frank is going home tomorrow after tea so he can get the jobs finished that he started last week. I will stay a few more days and then Sabrina will drive me halfway home and Frank will meet us somewhere. I wish I could go on the train as I normally would but it's just not safe to do that yet.

I will also be meeting my son Marc on Wednesday for a 2 meter distanced coffee. I haven't seen him since last November and a lot has happened since then! He finished with his girlfriend, moved into a flat on his own and has just become self employed as a mobile mechanic. He can fix absolutely anything. He's been through a rough few months but is getting on with his life now.

I'm absolutely exhausted tonight though I haven't done much so I'm off to bed now.

Goodnight :-) x
