It's the little things

The best thing about being back in St Ives is that every morning I go down to the beach for a run about and a play.

The rules re doggies allowed on the beaches have changed this year. I'm allowed on the beaches between 6pm and 10am. Yay!!

….................And in other news................... Ann's friend, Diane, came round for a few 'social distancing glasses bottle of Cava on our very sunny sun terrace, which wasn't very sunny today.

Even though St Ives is now pretty much opened up to holiday makers for the summer; the contrast between lock down in a city and lock down in a small rural seaside town is amazing. And even though there's quite a few tourists around; to us, it still seems really, really quiet.

Obviously the restaurants/pubs are pretty much booked up. But, we walked past the Co-op at 9am this morning and there wasn't a queue???  NO queue at a supermarket?  WOW!!!

…...............About a month ago we walked past our local Waitrose at 7.40am in Edinburgh (which doesn't open till 8am) and there were 17 people in the queue.

There's a lot of arguments for and against holiday makers coming down to Cornwall. And Face Book is filled with some 'very anti holiday maker 'stay away' messages.  Personally we want holiday makers to keep coming.  That's our income and if they don't come Ann won't be able to afford to buy me my treats.

.............At the end of the day, I guess that everyone has to be kept safe.

..........................And after more than 3 months in lock down every one just has to take responsibility for themselves and work out what is best for them.

Personally, I think it will be a long time before my human and me will get back to any sort of 'normality'. xx
