Bamboo.......zled
Another walk in the park by the river . The water has a muddy look to it as the heavy rains have washed lots of fine sediment into the river . I am almost certain that the tall plant growing along the riverbank is bamboo, I have never noticed it growing here before , very strange .
We have managed to speak to all three of our children today and hung out with Arthur so that’s been nice .
The group of friends that we were planning to go on holiday with in October has reached a consensus and so we will be cancelling the accommodation.
The flights aren’t refundable and Dave and I are wondering if we might risk it , it’s a week in Majorca - it’s difficult to predict what might happen. They are friends that we went to uni with so have known each other for over forty years , it’s difficult to arrange a get together and this week we managed to arrange was precious however everyone has managed to avoid the virus and stay well so far and hopefully we will manage something next year. We had a holiday in Bulgaria last year as one of our group has a house there and tries to arrange trips as a way of supporting the local economy . It was really interesting and felt very different to the Uk . A lot of the younger generation have earned money abroad and have returned home to set up small businesses. Prior to that we have only had weekends away but we had such a lovely time we wanted to repeat the experience. I’m going to suggest a camping trip but I will wait until the thought of our planned holiday in the sun has faded a little .
Trivial, I know , in the face of a pandemic to be disappointed over a holiday, it’s more that it’s just nice to spend time hanging out with friends and family.
