2020 Wednesday — Excavating
We had lots of action in the 'hood today -- a big earthmoving machine was trailered past our front windows about 7 a.m. I wish I had trotted up the street to get photos of the equipment being moved off the trailer and a capture of the land before the digging started.
The last lot on the south end of our street, on our side of the street, is being excavated and prepared for construction. Truckload after truckload of dirt has gone past our place throughout this day.
After he returned from his walk to the pier this morning, Mr. Fun walked to the lot to see what they were doing and take photos. He returned to tell me, “A 3-story spec home is going to be built.”
After 4:00 p.m. when the work stopped, we walked up the street to take a look and more photos. They have created a huge bank (wall) that will need a retaining wall built to secure it and they have removed much of the hill, but not all of it yet.
The lot is far enough away, thankfully, we won't get to listen to the construction noise.
So, that is what happened today in our neighborhood.
Good night from Cayucos
on California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
