(No) Caddy Shack
Today was a further step back to normality. But even as I enjoyed my first game of golf for almost a year the measures to protect us from possible transmission of the disease were apparent.
No traditional etiquette of the game, which is grounded in fair play. The flag sticks were not to be touched; instead a widget was fitted around the pole, allowing you to remove the golf ball from the hole, without using your hands. No shaking of hands, bumping of elbows instead (though even that seemed too close).
It rained throughout the whole round, but it didn’t matter, it was the pleasure of doing something that has been part of my leisure for almost 50 years That was important. I just wish I could still play as well as when I was in my pomp!
Day Miles: 6.8 miles. Total Miles: 869.8 miles
