Scarborough

It rained all night. It was quite nice to hear it thundering on the roof while we were snug inside the van even though 3.15 am to 5.30 was a long time to listen.

All walks were off as everything was so wet so we decided to drive to Scarborough to walk by the sea. We had a stroll on the beach and sadly saw a dead puffin.

Then we had to retreat to the prom and Even though it was wide it was quite stressful as 4 people might walk side by side, leaving no space for us to walk in line.

We had left Mike in the car park trying to find out what was wrong with his van which seemed to be leaking diesel. On return to our site his van started smoking. He called the RAC which eventually put him in touch with some contracted out company. A chap arrived with a low loader. He was in a hoody brandishing a spanner. Obviously he had no idea about trying to solve the problem. His mission was to put the van on his low loader and take it away but due to Covid could not take S and M. They were to get a taxi. That decided that was a silly option.

I cooked us all dinner which we ate outside in the cold to be safe while options were discussed and it was decided that we’d follow them home in the morning. They didn’t want us or a taxi to take them back so I’m not sure how us following them will help.but fingers crossed.
