South Downs Way Day 2 - Alfriston to Housedean

Despite the forecast, the rain eased off mid morning and we saw amazing views down over the Ouse and its way from Lewes to Newhaven.  Woody has become very alert to the signage and stands by them while we work out the next direction of travel.  The guide book also refers to it as ‘The Way’  which gives it a somewhat messianic aspect.  We drop down into the magical village of Southease full of picturesque cottages and Porsches and skirted Rodell where Virginia Woolf lived.  Long walk today 15 miles.
