Easter bunnies
Today's host for the Music Group session is from Germany (though he's been here so long he's very close to qualifying for the old-reliable description of being 'more Irish than the Irish themselves'). He always likes to host around Easter and Advent, because both times are kind of special in his homeland and have traditions attached to them. he was a bit premature with his Easter celebrations this year, but won't be hosting again until it's all over. So he pulled out many stops, had an Easter Tree on display, had Easter goodies on offer rather than the usual biscuits, and even had a goody bag from which he handed out a little gift for each of us. He's a dear friend, very kind and thoughtful. We had a whale of a time.
I took the Port Tunnel from Swords across the city to Carl's place. We ordered in a nice bit of grub from a local Thai place (reasonably priced, speedy delivery, good quality). There was too much to finish, but what we had was delish. After that there was the usual question of What's On In Carl's Kino? It turned out to be There Will Be Blood -- not an especially jolly film for late-night viewing. Daniel Day-Lewis is superb in the lead, while Paul Dano is an excellent ploy as his evangelical opponent, but the whole thing is tough going and all a bit harrowing. NOT easy viewing.
