Steven brought my supermarket shopping round this morning and as we were having a catchup I noticed the Spotted Woodpecker resting on the walnut tree, fortunately my camera was beside me so I quickly took this photo before he flew off, they are such skittish birds, but lovely to see.

I've made four jars of strawberry preserve this morning and for the first time used chia seeds to help it set.    It's just the right consistency for spooning over yoghurt or ice cream and gives a lovely texture and taste, I like it anyway.
This afternoon I've started laying a patio in front of my cabin, half way there and really chuffed with myself making a start on it and how it's coming along.
