New Life in the Apple Tree

Well the pigeon has been sitting patiently for some time, but today we noticed new life in the nest.  It took some perseverance to get any sort of shot as the nest is well inside the canopy of leaves and I didn't want to disturb the new parent and squab.  For much of the time the squab’s head was tucked under the breast of the parent, but this shot just caught it popping out and the extra was when the parents were away from the nest.  

Newly born birds seem to fit into one of two categories, either little adorable balls of fluff, or something that only a mother could love!  I suggest that pigeons fall into the latter category.
