Bee - dazzled

It hit 5.30 and I realised I still hadn't taken a photo today and I had given no thought to blip material. I went for a drive down to the river and wasn't inspired by the light on the water but fortunately I found a new 'emergency blip' spot - the thyme is flowering and is hosting throngs of bumblebees and honeybees. And the sun was shining nicely on this patch.

This one bears out my recent comments on the raggedness of their wings. As we head towards the end of summer many of them are looking pretty tattered and tired. It astounds me how they are managing to stay in the air with the rips and holes they are sporting.
