Boscastle Harbour

Had a lovely day exploring the coast. We stopped in Boscastle and had a walk and a picnic by the river. Then we walked to the harbour and had an ice cream before hitting the road again.

We had an aborted attempt with the first beach we tried to go to. It was just too busy and too small for a mental spaniel that hates other dogs!!. It was disheartening as it was quite a long drive and then a bit of a trek from the car park at there was a bit of whingeing from the kids.

But had we not gone there we wouldn't have got chatting to the couple who ran the coffee van in the car park there who told us about an amazing couple of beaches further down the coast. Plenty of space and in a really shallow estuary so the water was shallow and warm for the kids to swim. We saw David Cameron on his SUP. He walked past us twice on the beach. I only noticed him cos he was instructing his son in a proper plummy accent. We resisted the urge to shout obscenities at him because he was with his kid and we were with ours! We're going to the second beach tomorrow if the weather stays nice. Back late for a BBQ.
