Mines again

Last day and forecast was good so we packed lunch and coffee and headed off in the car. Lovely drive across the hill and into Cumbria. Nenthead has a small mining museum and the walk beyond it is very good. We walked past the old mine working and noticed a number of vehicles parked up close to one of the entrances. We enjoyed a few hours walking and lunch by a lake, passed a few walkers and family out for a picnic. On the way back it looked like a rescue practice was taking place near one of the vents, obviously difficult to socially distance so it was good to see a few of them wearing masks. The cycle shop and coffee shop in the village were busy, as was the children’s play area, so we got straight back in the car and headed off.
Baked aubergine curry for dinner and two episodes of Blacklist tonight. Heading home tomorrow.
