Little Bloxwich Sunrise

Woke at 4.30 am, as light started to show around the black out blind in the bedroom.  I peaked a look across to the north east which was sufficient to prompt me to get dressed and out the door.  

Not the same conditions as yesterday, it felt like a cold front had come through and there was a definite nip in the air.  I just managed to get canal side as the sun made its first appearance of the day.  A subtle rather than exceptional sunrise.  Still, it was an interesting sky for all of that.

Afterwards I headed round to the field where I often see the nursing herd of red deer.  I wasn't to be disappointed, counting 17 deer eating from the crop, including three fawns, about 6 yearlings and 8 hinds.  In the past I have seen herds of 50 plus, but from my observations over the last few months I am fairly confident that this herd, when added to the males that stay to the west of here, only add up to about 25 deer.  I know the farmers have been concerned at the damage they are doing to the crops and there may well have been some culling in recent years.
