Clematis
A bit of an emergency blip as I've been busy all day and forgot to take a photo....until it started raining of course! Having delayed having my burglar alarm serviced due to the virus, I thought this might be a good time, so booked it in for 8am. The alarm company needs to get to all doors and windows, so I was up at 7 clearing and cleaning. The engineer sanitised his hands, but wasn't wearing a mask although he was happy to do so when I asked him to as he would prefer to (Govt doesn't advise it so his Company doesn't do it). Then I cleaned the inside of all the windows, washed the voiles and painted the window sills. Finally ironing and hanging all back again.
Day 120 / Full Day 112 of Lockdown / Day 10 of Step 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 11 to 44,830 (low no's Sun & Mon) with new daily cases up by 530. Deaths in Mexico exceed 35,000 which is more than Italy. Globally cases exceed 13m, up 1m in 5 days. The PM says Britons should wear face masks in shops. Doctors and researchers in Northern Italy warn of the long term effects of Covid-19 including psychosis, insomnia, kidney disease, spinal infections, strokes, chronic tiredness and mobility issues. A study by doctors at Edinburgh University of 1,200 patients in 69 countries found 55% of patients showed heart abnormalities (15% serious) and half had some neurological effects. British researchers to follow 10,000 people discharged from hospital after CV for up to 25 years. Researchers at King's College London have found that antibodies in people with the virus had often declined 3 months after they peaked, so it might behave like a cold in terms of reinfection. A UK team are using antibodies (nanobodies) taken from the blood of llamas and then engineered which neutralises coronavirus in the lab.
