The Guernsey Tapestry
I was at a Walking for Health meeting this morning and somebody had some fliers for the Guernsey Tapestry. Entrance is free for Guernsey residents in July and August. Well not being one to turn down a bargain I went along to take advantage this afternoon.
The tapestry is made up of 10 panels; one stitched by each of the island’s parishes and each one representing a century from the 11th to 20th century. Back in the 90s when it was being stitched I put a stitch in the Torteval panel. I must have done a reasonable job because I couldn’t pick my stitch out in the panel!
