Cumbria Here I Come

By marpaul

Went back to Castle Carrock today for a 5.5 mile circular route.   The highlight was walking up Talkin Fell where there are lots of cairns.  There must be at least a dozen of them of all different heights.  Fantastic views of the lakeland fells from the top and also across the Solway to Scotland.

Near the end of the walk had to go through a field with cows and calves... was a bit scary but all was fine. Oh and as I was leaving I saw a group of people and recognised two of them, so stopped and had a chat.  They rescued a dog with three legs a few months ago so good to see her.  Apparently they did the same walk as me.  One in extras of an unusual dog friendly style and another view.
