I believe these flowers are Godetias.  A lady down the road gave me a tray full of them which she'd grown from seed.  I've never had them before but will hopefully get myself some next year.  So good to have some sunshine and blue sky today, makes a difference.  Spotted two frogs in the garden earlier and saw a goldfinch on a cornflower which has more or less finished flowering.
