Where the magic happens

'Where the magic happens' is maybe not an accurate description of the fourth-floor corridor in a fifty-year city-centre college building. This though captures a moment in time in what consumes a large percentage of my working week. The pic is taken from outside my office.

I spend nine hours a day a few feet from this corridor, desk-tied, office-located or classroom-hidden. Four staff rooms, three offices, nine classrooms and two lifts, and at the busiest time around 250 people - as you can see from the pic, very quiet when everyone is working away. Laughter, tears and much in-between, all human life has passed through. High quality learning and teaching takes place, with great staff and superb students. Although the real good stuff is within the rooms, I'm sticking with 'Where the magic happens'.
