Fin
Rain and fog for most of the day.
The nearby ornamental gardens (&cafe) opened to the paying public so we traipsed through the dripping jungle to enjoy an al-fresco windy lunch under a wobbling parasol with everyone trying to get used to the new etiquette of taking your orders off the presented tray.
Later there was cave exploration (with torches), kite flying, rolling in rotten things (by the dog), hearing (but not seeing) a corncrake and drinking of the local bevvy.
Here is the spine of a rotting Fin Whale. Probably doesn't illustrate the scale, but it is enormous. And stinking. The pelvis and jawbone nearby.
