Look Who I Found!

Rach left home in Cheshire at 10.30am and as she's always wanted to have photos of the girls in the lavender fields, I said I'd drive up to Mayfield Lavender Farm seeing as she'd practically be passing it. So I spent this morning doing the final bits in readiness of their arrival, prepared a beef tagine for the slow cooker, cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen and had a quick lunch with Alan before setting off to meet them.  Their journey was quicker than expected and when I phoned Rach at 12.30pm she said their ETA was 1.50pm, so I got ready to leave just before 1pm as it's about an hours' journey from here.

I arrived just before them and used the time to take some photos of  bees on the lavender.    There were so many, and Violet was scared of them so it made it difficult to get some really nice shots of both girls together, but Rach took this one of the three of us and I love it!  We didn't stay long as the girls were keen to get to our house to see the dogs, but had a slight detour to Matalan once back in Brighton as Rach had forgotten to bring her shorts and it looks like it'll be rather warm tomorrow.

We had dinner in the garden, Scarlett did her school work while Violet helped me in the garden - I was dead heading the Buddleia bush, so she was happily clearing the cuttings and throwing them over the fence into the nettles to decompose.  Once the girls had gone to bed, Rach started work and is still sat at the dining table working now and it's 11pm!   She's booked tomorrow as holiday, but said she'll do a bit more in the morning to make up the time.

Thoughts are with Charlotte & Chris today as they said farewll to their beloved Tess
