My Mam

was born on this day in 1905.Hard to believe it was so long ago.
She didn't like having her photo taken so she was looking down on the one with my Dad and his 2 sisters.
The other one is the only one of me as a baby in the arms of a neighbour with my sister Joan and brothers John,Jim and Jeff.
The two boys to the right were neighbours.
The other baby is my sister Jean who died as an infant.
My Mam was a Giver and never wished she had things.
When I started working in a department store me and my brother decided to buy her a China tea set.We paid weekly in the Club.
I think it cost £6:19s11d.a lot back then.I think a cup and saucer were only used on odd occasions.
I have it now and it's never used.
She had never had a watch either so another brother bought her an H.Samuel Everite  watch. Well known jewellers shop in Newcastle.
Eeh the things we remember.
