Fleeting poppies.

Had to go with this poppy today as they are literally here today and gone tomorrow and we never know where they will appear.

We had one year when thus whole bed was a mad of red, pink and purple poppies but sadly it’s never happened again. See here. So I’m always delighted when they appear.

Met my friend for a walk around the St Ives Estate this afternoon. Half way around we stopped at Ivy’s Kitchen for an outdoor cuppa. We then carried on for a walk around the pond before returning along low woodland path to the car park. Very warm and humid but a pleasant afternoon.

When I looked in the garden again I saw the the petals had already dropped from the poppy.
