brambleblossom

By brambleblossom

Every year I am surprised by how early the Rowan berries appear. They remind me of autumn yet they usually appear in high summer .

Another day of cool, wetness although looking at pictures of other places the sun has been shining elsewhere .

We have spent much of the day trying to book slots at the tip and then emptying the outbuildings of Dave’s family home prior to its sale.  Unsurprisingly there was still treasure to be found , copper nails, a child’s fishing net , cobblers shoe lasts used for the mending of shoes and so it goes on . We don’t want to throw away anything that might be useful but I think I have mentioned before that we are full to the brim . We were so delighted when the next door neighbour appeared and asked for the wood we had deemed too rotten to burn , he took lots of other bits and pieces for himself or for  others that might be interested.
We have been time poor for so long that we have many outstanding tasks and they tumble into each other so that despite our best efforts we still have a long way to go with the sorting of ours (and others ) stuff.

On an uplifting note  we have a blackbird visiting the garden to collect worms on a daily basis. As we are now included in its territory it will be singing each evening from a nearby tree .
