Going home day. We had to be out of the cottage by 10am so we were packed up early. Took the dogs for a run on the beach and picked up a bag of tiny pieces of plastic off the beach to 'do our bit'. The kids were brilliant about it and wanted to stay and do more.
I was a complete idiot back at the car park. I went to use the loo and there were big signs up saying they were community run and to please make a donation. I couldn't see where to put it so walked round the side of the building and saw a coin slot on the wall. Put my money in without really checking and was repaid with a cold jet of water!! I'd only gone and put my money in the outdoor shower. The shower heads were tiny and really high up!!! I was completely soaked. And my dry clothes were totally buried in the suitcase under loads of bags and behind the dogs who we'd just got settled for the journey home!! Pretty annoying.
We got home late afternoon and me and the kids went straight down to the yard. I'd barely turned the engine off and they were out of the door! They missed Jack so much. All the Neds looked really well and been well cared for by Georgia all week.
Currently sitting on the sofa (having cleaned my tack) trying to wear in my new riding boots ahead of tomorrow's pleasure ride with Quorn hunt (no foxes or hounds involved). We have to go smart and I realised my old boots were not going to cut the mustard - being at least 10 yrs old, stored in the barn, very scuffed and one of the zip pulls has been replaced by a blue paperclip when the leather broke (which is all I could find at the yard at the time to get my boots on and it's been there for 2+ years). I did try to clean them up but they still looked shit so I treated myself. Trouble is I've not had time to wear them in due to being away so I hope I'm not going to be in agony tomorrow!
